As I looked out the window as my flight headed for Casablanca,
I thought the same thing I've thought everytime I look down from the air on the Moroccan countryside," it'd make a lovely patch work picture quilt!"
With it's ocean and beaches, mountains and valleys, hillside villages, modern cites,
and the countryside cut into farming lands of all possible shapes, sizes and colors.
Flying from Agadir to Casablanca, (a 40 minute flight) we cut vertically across the country..on one side of the plane is the Atlantic coast and across the isle, the Great Atlas Mountains.
It's on landing at the Mohamed V, airport , that all the farm land becomes really visible, and my Meghreb quilt appears!
I wasn't next to a window this time, and it was hard getting the pics I wanted..
But what I do have will give you an idea. (my pics have the dates still on them, I need to find out how to hide it)
I have a dear friend who left on a direct flight Agadir -Paris, a few days after Easter..
I'm including some of her pictures, too, as their flight plan gave them a teriffic view of the Agadir bay, harbors and the coastline...I'm sure she was next to the window , too!! hmm! :-)
Merci, "Cri Cri"!
Agadir's Bay ( the armpit of the coastline) with the harbors to the NW, and long coastline, heading S.
A close up of Agadir's two harbors.
The White caps on the ocean are proof it was a windy day.
Agadir's beautiful long coastline, her extending city quarters and neighboring towns.
