Goats

As we near the village, we see yet another very typical
scene in Morocco...
A woman, under a tree,
watching over a small herd of goats.
She turned as we passed her to say greet us
and wish us well.

The goats and sheep didn't even notice our presence,
they were much too busy "munching"on whatever they could fine.

If we'd have stayed a bit longer we might have seen the goats climb
up into the argan trees, because that's what they like to do!!

Almost back...

Hey! Wait for us!!
Courage gals, we're almost Back!

Hiking is fun!!

The little white building is a very typical sight in all of Morocco.
It's called a "Marabou", and is a saint's tomb. Usually a descendent of the person considered a saint (a holy man) lives near the Marabout and greets pilgrims when they come to visit or to pray. Each Marabou is known for something special. If a girl is looking for a good husband, she knows which one to visit, if someone has a certain illness they know which Marabou will help.. I don't know the name of this Marabou or what his speciality is.

My friends didn't wait as I tarried , taking pictures!

The village cemetary.
Notice there are no tombstones, just flat stones
marking the grave sites.

Strange cacti

Euphorbia Mauritanica is a very typical, naturel" ground cover"
here in the Agadir and the Souss!

It is crowned by tiny yellow flowers that you can hardly see here!

or here........

But if you get a little closer...........

You can see them well!!
The bees use the flowers to make a honey that when swallowed
really heats up your throat.
You don't feel the heat until you swallow it.
Quite amazing, actually!
