Advent is here

HAPPY ADVENT To ALL

I'd like to share a reflexion I read on internet, that I found true and inspiring.

"LIFE IS AN ADVENT SEASON"

"Life is a constant Advent season: we are continually waiting to become, to discover, to complete , to fulfill.
Hope, struggle, fear, expectation and fulfillment are all part of our Advent experience.
The world is not as just, not as loving, not as whole, as we know it can and should be.
But the coming of Christ and his presence among us, give us reason to live in hope: that light will shatter the
darkness, that we can be liberated from our fears and predjudices, that we are never alone or abandoned.
May this Advent season be a time for bringing hope, transformation and fulfillment into the Advent of our lives."

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

"Think , oh, grateful, think!
How good the God of Harvest is to you;
Who pours abundance o'er your flowing fields."
Thomason

WISHING YOU ALL A WONDERFUL DAY!!

The Mustangs of las Colinas, Irving, Tx

The Mustangs of las Colinas; nine wild mustangs, so realistic, so "very alive" , are in reality beautiful bronze equestrian sculptures galloping across the granit stream of the Williams Square.
The movement and LIFE captured by their creator, African wildlife artist, Robert Glen , is absolutely breathtaking.
Believe me it's worth a trip to Irving to see them.

"When you're in Texas look around you,
'cause that's where a Ranger's gona be"
Now I recognize this building..It was used in the Walker, Texas Ranger TV series for years..
and WE still see reruns regularly on the Italian TV!!

This is where the rodeo takes place!

More State fair

Here's Big Tex, sorry it's a shot from the back...my camera's memory card had a "bug" of some kind
so lots of my pics from Texas are for the moment "locked in"...
I do have a very reliable informatic genius who is solving this problem for me, but for the moment
these are the State fair pics I can share with you!!

Texas State Fair

"Our State Fair is a great State Fair,
Don't miss it ! Don't even be late!!
It's dollars to dounuts that our State Fair
is the best State Fair in our State!!"

This song was sang by Pat Boone in the film , "State Fair . Remember?!
I did, and when I knew we were going to be going, it kept singing itself
over and over again in my mind!!!
Hey, it's a fun song! I didn't mind at all.

Texas Time

Our next stop will be , the Lone Star State of Texas...What a wonderful treat!! Jackie and Don couldn't have been more gracious hosts......They , too, drove me ALL OVER their corner of the world.
There were very few autumn trees to photograph...but you'll see, that didn't discourage me from using my camera....there were hundreds of other things that caught my eye!!
So "com'on y'all and have a look."

Harvest time in Indiana

"Lo! sweeten'd with the summer light
The full-juiced apple, waxing over mellow
Drops in a silent Autumn night......"
Alfred Lord Tennyson

And everywhere, homegrown pumpkins and gorgeous mums for sell.

Indiana's autumn begins

"Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it.
And if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
George Eliot

Boy, can I relate to that beautiful quote!!
Although actually, Indiana was just
beginning "to show" she was in a "fall way" when I was there end of September...
