South Bend Reunion

Getting together with my SBMSN "sisters" (South Bend Memorial School of Nursing friends, class of 1966) was a highlight of my trip to the States. It was like falling into the springy waters of youth. No need for a magic formula, it's the hugs and laughter, the sparkle and the wit, that revive heart and soul!!
The food, the old snapshots, the stories and memories, the FUN all contribute, but it's the hugs and laughter that rejuvinate us .
We were many!!
Sheryl Riley Sabie flew in from California, bless her heart!!
Some of the gals like Jeannie Slatter Joan Nylander Haney, Karen Watson, and Mary Trout, I've not seen for, gee, I think since 1968...

For the weekend of the 2nd-4th of october we were between 11-16 present.
Even the lack of rooms in So. Bend due to the Irish Football game didn't stop us.
We had dinner in Niles at the Mileium Resturant the Friday evening..after which we congregated in the dining room of the gals' motel to continue our visiting.
Saturday we met at Honkers in Mishawaka for a great lunch...I think we were 15 from our class, plus Bev Casto a "big sis" and Miss Petersen and Kardesen who also joined us....After lunch we "congregated" again, this time at Margie's home in South Bend. As the evening before, everyone came prepared to share: albums of pictures, souvenirs and "favorite beverages and snacks!! ( very important!!)
I don't remember what time we broke up.... but it was a terrific, delightful,
FUN afternoon!!

Sunday we met at a lovely café.. Waterfront Cafe, in Niles, for a delicious brunch and a couple more hours together before each one headed back home.

I took soooooooo many pictures....Impossible to post them all...but I hope those I chose will give you an idea of the marvelous time we had...
We sure did miss all of you who couldn't make it.

By the way, the pics are not in order, sorry...I'll comment as I go!
